Updates:
PreACT Tuesday
Tomorrow, 10/31 will be a half day and also the Pre-ACT for all 10th graders. Only students currently in 10th grade should report to school tomorrow. Please arrive at ERA by 8:25 a.m. Based on the testing time, most students should finish around 11:30 am-12:00 p.m. but this could vary based on students’ accommodations.
What to Bring on Test Day

Two No. 2 pencils with erasers
-
An approved calculator (see attachment) – This test can be taken without the use of a calculator. The school will not be providing calculators or batteries for calculators for the PreACT.

Snack and drink (optional) – Food and drink can only be consumed during the break and must be done outside of the testing room. Eating, drinking, and the use of reading materials are not permitted in the test room.
What Not to Bring
-
Any devices, including smartwatches, that can be used to record, transmit, receive or play back audio, photographic, text, or video content. Phones and smartwatches that are brought into the school will need to be completely powered off and stored away. Students will not have access to these devices during testing or any breaks.

Protractors, compasses, rulers

Highlighters, colored pens, colored pencils, mechanical pencils

Pamphlets or papers of any kind

Pep Rally Friday
We will host a pep rally in the gym on Friday to celebrate all our fall sports teams. See the schedule below, any questions – reach out to Mrs. Alford.

Honor Roll Celebration
We will have the Q1 honor roll celebration during lunch on Friday! Still need more volunteers and donations – if you are able to help, please see this link!
Lunch Time
Starting this week, staff on lunch duty will be making sure that no students are eating lunch in the gym. Please remember that you can eat lunch in the commons, outdoor seating areas, or in a teacher’s classroom. The gym is open during lunch, but food must be kept out.

Board of Directors Meeting:
Our next board meeting will be held on November 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Feel free to join us at the high school or via this Zoom link.
Children’s Market:
Every year, ERA students and clubs put on our Children’s Market! Applications are now available for students and clubs who would like to have a booth to sell handmade items or conduct a service project. Applications are due to Mrs. Hover with the $10 booth fee by Nov. 21. This year’s market will be on December 2 from 10-12 in the HS Gym!

Honor Roll Celebration
Report cards go home this week on Friday, 10/27. We will have an honor roll celebration the following Friday, 11/3 during lunch.

Make-A-Wish Color Run
Please join Kids Helping Kids and sign up for the Make-A-Wish Color Run January 6th at WRAL Soccer Park! Over the past 3 years we have been able to help raise over $30,000 to provide wishes to 6 critically ill children. You can sign up to be a runner or a color thrower, with the option to join the Eno River Academy team or create your own. We hope you can come out and support this amazing cause!

Lunch Donations
We would love to invite families who are inclined to donate a hot lunch to help out any students who may have forgotten or are unable to purchase lunch here at school. You can do this by adding an additional lunch to your order for the office!

Spirit Week is October 30-November 3! Followed by the Fall dance on November 4th from 7pm-10pm.
