HS Bobcat Weekly Blast – 7/20/22

Good Morning Bobcat families!

I hope you all had a great holiday last week and are rested! I sent this email out on Monday, but realized there was an issue with my list-serv, which we have fixed, so I am resending it now! I am so looking forward to meeting all of you in the coming weeks. Please read the weekly update below, and as always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Updates:

Fall Driver Education Classes:  The fall session of Driver Education will be held August 22nd through September 14th, 2022 (September 3rd & 5th are holidays).  Classes will meet virtually Monday through Friday from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Students are expected to attend all classes even if it’s a workday or there is inclement weather.  Students must be 14.5 years old to register (birthdate on or before 2/1/2008).  Priority is given based on birthdate.  The cost is $50 and must be paid between August 15th and 19th.  A study packet will be available at the time of payment.

To register, click here.  The deadline to register is July 29th.  You will receive more information after the registration is submitted and accepted.

Once a student registers for the classes, this is the information Buddy Hartley sends to the students and parents:

You are registered for the August Class that starts on 8/22 and runs through September 14, 2022, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Class is virtual so make sure you have access to a working Internet for the whole Session. You must successfully complete 30 hours of class, so NO CLASS TIME can be missed.  Students must complete all classwork and will have to turn on cameras at least 3 times during each class. The DE class fee is $50 (Cash, Check, or Money Order made out to OCS Driver Education) non refundable. Students should start picking up a DE packet at the Eno River office on Monday 8/15/22 from 8am-4pm. The DE fee should be paid then also. This course is set up by NCDPI and is accessed through their Canvas platform and on Zoom. Students will receive a message at their school email address with login information before class starts from Erin Bradley.  All questions about class should be sent to me. ONLY questions about Canvas or login issues should be sent to Erin Bradley. If you cannot attend the whole class or have already taken a

class elsewhere PLEASE let me know ASAP. Students can only attend one Driver Ed class!

Once he adds them to his DMV program they get links, password, etc to sign in.
