High School Students and Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful, restful fall break. It was nice to take some time to recharge. Here are this week’s updates and reminders:
Updates and Information:
Board of Directors Meeting: The October meeting will be held on October 19th from 5:00pm-7:00pm in the high school commons.
Homecoming Dance & Spirit Week: ERA High School will have Spirit Week November 1-5. Click here for a list of the different spirit days. Our Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday, November 6. Tickets will be on sale the week of October 25 at $10 each and the week of November 1 for $15 each. If a student wants to bring a non-ERA student as a guest to the dance, he/she will need to complete a form, which will be given at the time of ticket purchase. Forms must be returned 24 hours prior to the dance.
Children’s Market Application: Any ERA student or club in grades K-12 may apply to have a booth at this year’s Children’s Market! Please complete the included application and return the application, $10 fee, and accompanying photos to Mrs. Hover (firstname.lastname@example.org) by November 19. NOTE: K-2 classes already have booths at the market. Questions may be directed to Mrs. Hover.
Athletics: Please visit the following document or the ERA Athletics website for ongoing updates with our Athletics Department including winter season sports including swim team.
Auditions for Winter Play: The Performing Arts Club will be hosting auditions next week for the winter play. For more information, contact Ms. Mikayla Gray at email@example.com
Service Day: Just a reminder that October 26 is a service day for our freshmen, select juniors, and seniors who will not be participating in on-campus testing that day. Students can choose to visit a college, volunteer with a local agency, or shadow in a potential career field.
Pre-ACT and PSAT: On Tuesday, October 26, we will be testing on campus for the Pre-ACT and PSAT. All sophomores will be taking the Pre-ACT and only juniors who registered and paid for the PSAT will be taking that test. Students should be finished with testing between 11:30-12 noon.
Good Works Club October Project: Our Good Works Club is sponsoring a raffle with proceeds going to support the American Cancer Society in honor of Breast Cancer awareness month. Click here to learn more.
PATH Redesign: Click here for a document which outlines our PATH redesign plan. We will begin scheduling virtual meetings so look out for those notices if you are interested in helping with any of the groups. Thank you to all of the past PATH leadership and volunteers for all of your hard work. We are so appreciative of your support.
Cross Country: Eno River Academy is hosting the TNAC Conference Championship for Cross Country on Tuesday, October 19 at 5:00pm. Come out and support your ERA Bobcat Cross Country team as they compete for our first ever XC conference title! It’s Senior Night and we will be recognizing our 6 amazing seniors.
Future Visions Meeting: Are you interested in contributing your time and ideas to Eno River Academy? Consider joining the next ERA Future Visions meeting! This year we have a special focus on outdoor learning and athletic spaces. Our next Future Visions meeting will take place at 5pm on 10/27 on Zoom.
Diversity and Inclusion Meeting: Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26th at 5:30pm. We will share the link to the meeting in next week’s update.
Upload Photos to the Yearbook Class: Click here for a QR code that will take any school community member directly to the photo upload site. It’s a more succinct way to upload photos! Questions may be directed to Ms. Webb at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Yearbook Ad Survey: We want to offer the business advertisements to ERA families that own or are associated with local businesses before anyone else. The survey is quick–only five questions. Yearbook Local Business Ad Survey
Bobcat Weekly: One of our clubs has started producing a weekly newspaper featuring various aspects of student and staff life here at ERA High School. We will start sharing the digital version each week. Click here for previous issues.
Good News Gazette: We have many talented students here at ERA and want to highlight their great accomplishments inside and outside the classroom. Feel free to share any good news with Dr. Davis. This will be a feature in each weekly message. Click here to view.
Covid Dashboard: Zero additional Covid cases last week.
Since the beginning of school:
K-8: 8 cases
HS: 3 cases
Currently, all transmissions have been from outside of school.
Thank you for your continued support throughout this school year. We appreciate it!
Have a great week!
