High School Students and Families,
I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. Pardon the delay with this week’s message, but we wanted to await the outcome of Monday’s soccer game in order to send out one email with all the latest athletic information/updates.
Congratulations to Coach Pierce and our HS Cross Country team! They placed 6th in the state! Emily Pierce and Lucas Nagel both had Personal Records. We are so proud of all of our ERA athletes.
Another congratulations to our Varsity Boys’ Soccer team for winning a nail biter of a game against Vance Charter on Monday night in the third round of the NCHSAA 1A State Playoffs. The next game is away against Voyager in Durham at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 11. Tickets are $7 (price set by the NCHSAA).

Color Guard: We are looking for students who are currently in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Civil Air Patrol, Venture Crew, or an ROTC club to help with the presentation of the US and NC flags at upcoming home basketball games. Other students who are not involved in one of these organizations may also be trained. If you are interested in helping, see Mrs. Riggs.

Board of Directors Update: During 2020 and early 2021 the ERA board of directors met virtually. Now that the students are back in person full-time, the board members are meeting in person. Engaging with the community and making board meetings more accessible is very important to the ERA board of directors. The November 16th board meeting will be held virtually (zoom meeting info to come) and feedback on meeting preferences will be solicited during the upcoming Parent/Guardian Survey that will be sent out mid-November.
Staff Candy Apple Bar: If you’d like to donate to the staff candy apple bar on November 19th, please sign up via the signup genius. Thank you for helping us treat our amazing teachers!
National Art Honors Society: We are so excited to make our ornaments again this year in order to raise funds for our society. We will be working on them over the course of the next month but wanted to give you a chance for customization and order priority! Pick up will be Dec. 4th at the ERA Children’s Market. Here is an order form along with some visual examples, check it out and support our student artists! https://forms.gle/

Good News Gazette: We have many talented students here at ERA and want to highlight their great accomplishments inside and outside the classroom. Feel free to share any good news with Dr. Davis. This will be a feature in each weekly message. Click here to view.
