High School Students and Families,
I hope you had a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving holiday. I’d like to wish a happy and joyous Hanukkah to those who celebrate.
The semester is quickly coming to a close. It’s hard to believe that we start final exams next week, but ‘tis the season! Here are this week’s updates from the high school:
Updates and Information:
Final Exam Schedule: Click here for our final exam schedule, which goes from December 8-17. Just to clarify, all students will attend December 6-9. Students will only attend December 10-17, if they have a state End-of-Course exam.
Donations for Needy Families: Our number of needy families increases each year as our population increases. If you would like to donate a gift card for those in need, please drop it off at the high school no later than December 15th. Walmart and Target gift cards are best so that families can purchase food, clothing and/or gifts. Thank you for your generosity. If you are in need and would like to be included, please email Dr. Davis directly. Your information will be kept confidential.
Custodian Appreciation Day: Three of our students have organized a Custodian Appreciation Day on December 1, to honor Mr. Calvin, our HS custodian, for all his hard work. If you would like to drop off a gift card or note for him, you can bring it to the high school front office. We will put everything together for him.
Holiday Spirit & Service Week: We will have a holiday spirit & service week, December 6-9. Click here for more details with each day’s theme. In addition, we are using this week to collect non-perishable food items and toiletries to donate to the Durham Rescue Mission. Thanks to sophomore, Mary Shanahan, for creating our spirit week flyer!
Diversity and Inclusion: Our next Diversity and Inclusion meeting is scheduled for Monday 11/29 at 5pm on zoom. Please join us!
Bobcats Athletics in Action: We have three home basketball games this week along with a home swim meet. Click here for the winter sports schedule.
Watch Bobcats Basketball LIVE at Home: Eno River Academy has partnered with NFHS Network to stream our home high school basketball games. Click here for more details and subscription options.
SENIORS – Graduation Regalia Order Now: Click here for more information about ordering and the direct link to Eno River Academy’s Josten’s page. Orders should be submitted by December 17 to ensure they will be available in time for Cap and Gown photos in early 2022 and to get discounted pricing.
Snuggly Socks & Hot Chocolate Bar: If you’d like to donate to the staff hot chocolate bar or provide our staff with some fun socks on December 17, please sign up via the signup genius. Thank you for helping us treat our amazing teachers!
HS Art Show: Our Visual Arts Department invites you to attend their annual Art Show on December 9 from 6-7 p.m in the ERA HS Gym. Click here for the invitation and details.
4-H Pet Drive: ERA’s elementary 4-H club will be holding a pet drive from December 4-17. We will be collecting used bath towels, used blankets, and pet food to donate to a local veterinarian office and animal shelter. Donations will be collected at Children’s Market or in the K-8 main office. Thank you for your support!
Children’s Market: Come one, come all to Children’s Market on December 4! Enjoy the items our classes, clubs, and student vendors will have for sale. The high school Photography Club will also have mini holiday portrait sessions! Watch our social media in the coming days for pictures of available items.
Covid Dashboard: We had 2 positive cases reported over the weekend.
Since the beginning of school:
K-8: 11 cases
HS: 5 cases
Currently, all transmissions have been from outside of school.
Thank you for your continued support throughout this school year. We appreciate it!
Have a great week!
