HS Weekly Update 3/21/22

High School Students and Families,

 

I hope you all had a great weekend and have adjusted to the time change. We have two board seats opening in July. Be sure to click on the links for more information.

 

Here are this week’s updates and reminders:

 

Board Seats: The Eno River Academy Board of Directors is made up of seven volunteers: six parent members and one community member. Parent members serve on 3-year terms and are voted in by ERA families. The community member is appointed by the board and serves a 1-year term. There are two board openings with term dates starting July 2022.

Upcoming Meetings: All meetings will be held via Zoom and will begin at 5:00 pm except the Board of Directors meeting which will begin at 5:30 pm. 

  • Board of Directors: March 29th (5:30 pm) Zoom Link This meeting will be a hybrid of both in-person and online. In-person will take place in the Anspach Commons at the high school.

  • Future Visions: March 17th 5-6pm Zoom Link  ****Our March Future Visions meeting will focus on grant opportunities for ERA. Please join us or reach out to Sarah Yagnow with any questions at syagnow@enoriveracademy.org***

Grounds Beautification Day: Please join us Saturday, March 26th from 1-3 pm to clean up and add some beauty to our beloved school campus! We will be working outside at both the K-8 building and the High School building. Click here for more information.  

 

80’s Dance:  On Saturday, March 26, the Good Works club is sponsoring an 80’s themed dance to raise funds for the ALS Association.  Click here for more information.  The club also needs snack donations for the dance.  If you are willing to donate, please sign up here.  

 

Recycling on Campus:  Our Earth Challenge Club has set up recycling for ERA HS. You CAN recycle: aluminum cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, paper and cardboard. Please DO NOT recycle: any plastic bags, styrofoam, food remnants or paper towels! Please be mindful of what you put in the recycling bins.

 

Bobcat Weekly:  The latest edition of Bobcat Weekly, our student newspaper, is out!  Click here to access.

 

March Madness Food Drive: The Habitat for Humanity Club is hosting a food drive alongside March Madness. Donations will be accepted from March 22nd to April 8th. There will be a donation box in the commons and on each hallway. All food will be donated to the OCIM Food Pantry. Each item is 1 point towards your team of choice and your CATS group. The CATS group + teacher with the most points (regardless of team standing) will receive a voucher that can be exchanged for 1 treat at the next Habitat for Humanity bake sale.

Snow Cone Fridays:  Come enjoy a snow cone and support the Kids Helping Kids club. Snow Cones will be available every Friday from March 18th to May 13th for $1. All proceeds will go to Preston’s League. 

 

Prom 2022 Tickets:  Prom tickets are officially on sale starting this week.  Students may purchase before/after school or during lunch from Mrs. Jones.  

 

From the FCS Club (HS): The Fellowship of Christian Students is hosting an Eno River Academy Color Run! It is a 1 Mile Fun Run and 5K fundraiser including family-friendly activities, explosions of colors, and an amazing opportunity to better our school community. The purpose is to impact and support our community and include everyone who would like to have a day full of fun! Proceeds of this event will support PORCH Hillsborough, an organization committed to fighting hunger in Northern Orange County, and the Fellowship of Christian Students Club. The National Art Honor Society: ERA Art Day will be on April 30th from 1 to 3pm.  K-8 students and families are invited to attend this event where art from around the world will be celebrated.  Art stations include clay, photography, button making, fabric cards, and more. Please join us in celebrating creativity and expression.
