HS Weekly Update 9/21/21

High School Students and Families,

I hope you all had a great long weekend. As you know, we participated in a professional development day yesterday. Our Diversity & Inclusion consultant, Dr. Lanier, presented his first training to our K-12 faculty and staff. It was a great day of learning and fellowship. We will have another full day of training in January, but until then, Dr. Lanier will be joining us in our monthly staff meetings to continue the work.

Please see the latest and greatest updates from the high school world:

Updates and Information:

Check Out:  For parents or authorized adults coming to the front office to check out a student, please be sure to have ID ready to show to our front office staff.  For students who are self-driving, please have your parent/guardian call the front office or send a note to authorize an early release.  We want a safe campus, and these two protocols will help ensure that.

Excused vs. Unexcused Absences:  Click here for more information on what counts as an excused versus unexcused absence for school.  This is per NC attendance laws.

COVID Testing: We are now offering on-site COVID testing for our students.  If you want your student to be eligible to participate in on-site testing, complete this Student Registration Link The link will ask you several Covid questions, checkboxes for approval, and HIPAA compliance. The registration page will come after you’ve answered those questions and given consent. If your child has Covid-like symptoms, we will notify you and get your consent prior to testing your child. Pre-registration will speed up the process for us.
