K8 Weekly Update 3/6

Good morning,

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! The weather was so nice. Just a reminder that daylight saving time is this coming weekend.
Here are this week’s updates and reminders:
1. ERA Ice Skating Night: Please join the ERA community for a family skate night on Friday, March 10th. A flyer with additional details is attached.
2. 3-5 Specials Showcase: March 20 from 4-5pm in the K-8 gymnasium. All 3-5 parents and students are invited for a time of activities and exhibits from Art, Music, Engineering, & PE.
3. Middle School Dance: Join us for some fun at the Wacky Tacky Dance!  Friday, March 24 from 5-7pm.  Admission is $5, snacks and drinks are between $.25-$1 and all proceeds go toward middle school field trips.  If you’d like to send in donations or volunteer to set up/clean up, you can do that here.  Flier attached.

4. World Down Syndrome Day: Join us on Tuesday, March 21st as we bring awareness to Down Syndrome. On this day, two different socks are worn to celebrate human uniqueness. Please join us as we spread awareness by wearing fun socks that day. A flyer is attached. 

5. 4-H Meeting Tuesday:  The club meeting this Tuesday is about SEWING. We will be setting up our first embroidery project. If your child does not want to participate in the project, they do not need to attend this meeting.
6. 4-H Sewing Thursday Meetings: The sewing group will be able to meet on Thursdays after school until 4:15 to continue working together on the project! Here is a list of dates for sewing meetings. We will meet Mrs. Velasco’s room. This is an optional work time and students who are doing this project do not have to come every week.
7. March Board of Directors Meeting: The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on March 22nd at 5:30 pm. March Meeting Link
8. D&I: The D&I committee will meet at the high school on March 7th from 4:00 pm-5:00 pm.
9. Summer Camps: Camps provided by teachers are linked on this document. Check out what’s available including Camp Bobcat, Science Camp, Cardboard Creations, and Cheer Camp. Sports camp information will be coming in the next few weeks.
