Elementary

Eno River Academy is a great place to work and learn.  As our mission states: Eno River Academy will nurture a community of academic and artistic distinction, as it enriches each student’s cultural literacy.  Our tradition of excellence stretches back to 1997, when we opened our doors as part of North Carolina’s original wave of charter schools.

Our biggest strength has always been our people.  Our dedicated staff members, supportive parents who hold high expectations for their children, and bright/responsible students make this an excellent educational opportunity for those seeking smaller class sizes and an inclusive school culture.

Meanwhile, our STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Math) instructional framework has made learning more challenging, fun, and relevant than ever before. Built around the foundation of the area’s premiere school-based Arts Program, a STEAM approach purposely instills creativity and problem-solving ability in students by providing them with regular opportunities to formulate and test out original ideas across multiple subject areas. STEAM aims to break down the outdated notion that students have to choose between being left-brain or right-brain dominant thinkers. Why not both? Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a main teaching strategy within this broader STEAM framework. PBL emphasizes interest-driven student research and team project design to address the Science and Social Studies curriculum.

If you are considering Eno River Academy as a future educational option for your child, please join us for one of our group tours and information sessions (no RSVP necessary). I recommend liking our Facebook Page as an easy/great way to keep up with school happenings.

We hope to see you at ERA!
