Good afternoon,

We’re looking forward to Kona Ice and World Heritage Day on Wednesday, the early release day! Maybe you can enjoy your Kona Ice on our brand new wooden chairs - an Eagle Scout project by Pep M (a former ERA student).

Best,

Kristin

Updates:

Dear ERA Community,

The ERA School Hiring Committee (SCH) would like to update you on a few important happenings at the school. We are excited to inform the ERA community that SHC has created a detailed job description for an Executive Director position at ERA, posted this position in many locations (feel free to see the ERA website for posting details), and has now evaluated the many exciting and very qualified applications that have been submitted. Our next steps this week is to zoom interview the top candidates, in order to narrow the applicants list. The SCH is hoping to recommend 2-3 candidates to the board for in-person interviews. We will keep you posted as things move forward.

The next Board of Directors Meeting:  April 16, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. The board will have its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 16th at 5:30 p.m.  The meeting will take place in the K-8 Commons and can also be attended virtually at this link.  There will be a public comment period at the start of this meeting.  If you would like to have a comment read at the meeting, please submit it through board@enoriveracademy.org no later than 3:00 p.m. March 16. We hope to see you there.

The Board of Directors welcomes comments and communication from families, and encourages anyone to email us at board@enoriveracademy.org

Warm Regards,

Pamela Norcross and the ERA Board of Directors

KONA ICE TRUCK!!! The Kona Ice truck was such a huge success that we are doing it again!  Please come and support the seniors raising money for the first ever Senior's gift to the school. The Class of 2024 is raising money to purchase a trophy case and hopefully we can raise enough to get a snow cone machine for concessions. The Kona Ice truck will be parked between the lower school and the high school on April 17th from 11:15 AM  to 1 PM. Thanks for helping us give back to a school that has given us so much.

1st/2nd Grade Spring Performance:

We are excited to put on our first performance together!  This year, Grades 1-2 will be presenting a fun, musical program titled “HATS!”  Grab your hat!  It’s time to party!  Hats of all shapes and sizes take over the stage when a group of milliners help Hatless Hank find the perfect hat.  Discover that it’s not the hat that makes a person special, but what’s underneath!   They will perform on April 24th and 25th at 9:00am in the middle school gym.  Parents and guests are invited to attend either or both performances.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

As Teacher Appreciation Week fast approaches. . . We need YOUR Help to remind our Staff they are "FIRST CLASS!"

This year we will be treating our first class staff to something special each day the week of May 6-10th such as snacks, breakfast, lunch, sweet treats and more!

We would really appreciate your support in helping some of these fun activities happen for the teachers. Sign up to help here:

We will be taking collections until Friday May 4th and will put gifts together for delivery on Friday May 10th.

This will be a school wide collection from families to purchase gift cards for all members of our staff (teachers, administrators, specialists, etc)

We are so grateful for any generosity towards showing our staff how much they are appreciated (and making the shopping easier on you!)

**Cash can be sent in an envelope with Julie Forrest - TAW (teacher appreciation week) on the front and turned into the HS or K-8 office.

World Heritage Day: Please come join us on Wednesday April 17th as the Spanish Honor Society hosts their 1st Annual World Heritage Day event. This will take place in the high school gym. There will be informational pieces  prepared from our spanish classes as well as other countries around the world. Students will have a chance to hear music, play games, read information, and taste test drinks and foods from other countries.

We are asking that elementary school take the first hour from 9-10, then 10-11 for the middle school and 11-12 for the high school. Sign up here. If the time slots fill up and there is additional interest, teachers are welcome to email Ms.Tinnin@ jtinnin@enoriveracademy.org, to work out an additional time frame. Students are welcome to bring some cash if they would like to enter a raffle for a goodie basket. Proceeds will go to support the families working in local labor camps in NC with basic necessities.
